Solid opening performance by LRC in tough opening race

Paul Sankey produced another excellent run to come 7th place overall in a highly competitive race, which was won by British Athletics Writers junior male athlete of the year David Forrester of St Helens Sutton. He was well supported by Paul Quine (16th), Stephen Rickets (20th), George Pierce (63rd), Billy Merritt (79th), Robbie Burke (81st), Steve Clayton (82nd), and Frank Greene (114th).

LRC finished 6th team out of 14 clubs in the area with a total of 266 points. This left us just 9 points behind Spectrum Striders (5th team) who are our main rivals in the North West Sunday Cross Country, with more LRC members taking part in the next race we should be able to improve in three weeks at Sefton Park on Saturday 29th November.
